Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a dedicated Dispatcher to coordinate and communicate with drivers, dispatch technicians, and track vehicles from our Sacramento office.

The role emphasizes clear communication, calmness under pressure, and efficient multitasking to ensure timely service calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proven experience as dispatcher or equivalent role is preferred.
• Fleet maintenance / automotive / trucking experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage scheduling for assigned route assignments.
• Schedule and dispatch fleet vehicles for daily service calls.
• Communicate with drivers about location, ETA, and delays.
• Monitor driver safety and maintain logs.
• Prepare reports on daily activities for managers.
• Update job status in dispatch software and maintain records.
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints professionally.
• Prepare reports on fleet utilization and metrics.
• Adhere to all dispatch policies and procedures.

About the Dispatcher Role

The Dispatcher will act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. You will receive requests from customers, dispatch technicians, transmit messages, and track vehicles. The ideal candidate must be primarily an excellent communicator and able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. You must be able to multitask as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision.

Location: Onsite at our Corporate Office in Sacramento, CA

Schedule: Tuesday-Wednesday, & Friday-Saturday, 6:00AM - 4:30PM

Where You’ll Make an Impact:

• Manage scheduling for assigned route assignments
• Schedule and dispatch fleet vehicles for daily service calls
• Communicate with drivers about their current location, estimated time of arrival at the next destination, and any delays that may occur
• Ensuring safety by monitoring driver behavior and adherence to safety policies, as well as maintaining driver logs
• Preparing reports on daily activities and statistics for managers
• Update job status in the dispatching software system and maintain accurate records of dispatched tasks
• Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and courteous manner
• Prepare reports on dispatched tasks, fleet utilization, and other metrics as needed
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to dispatch operations
• Perform other duties as assigned

What our ideal candidate looks like:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as dispatcher or equivalent role
• Fleet Maintenance / Automotive / Trucking industry experience highly desired
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Strong organizational and coordination skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite with aptitude to learn new software and systems

Work Environment

• Standard office setting.
• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
• Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time.
