Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. is seeking a Dispatcher for the Long Products Division in the United States. You will build, schedule and dispatch outbound truck freight and coordinate rail shipments, communicating with carriers, sales, and production teams to ensure on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Build, schedule and dispatch outbound truck freight via approved and collect freight carriers.
• Build, dispatch and coordinate scheduling of outbound rail freight.
• Utilization of multiple computer programs directly and indirectly involved with truck and rail shipments.
• Communicate effectively with carriers, sales, members of dispatch team, transportation, production departments, I.T. and customers.
• Engage with railroad representatives as necessary.
• Assist with calculating month end shipment forecast and supporting additional dispatch functions.
• Assist with perspective carrier evaluations and soliciting new carriers.
• All other duties as assigned.

The Long Products Division, Steel Ventures, has an opening for a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher is responsible for dispatching, scheduling, and receiving incoming shipments.

Responsibilities

• Build, schedule and dispatch outbound truck freight via approved and collect freight carriers
• Build, dispatch and coordinate scheduling of outbound rail freight
• Utilization of multiple computer programs directly and indirectly involved with truck and rail shipments
• Communicate effectively with carriers, sales, members of dispatch team, transportation, production departments, I.T. and customers
