Job summary

OmniSource is seeking a Fleet Dispatcher to coordinate freight movements and support field teams in a fast-paced setting. You will dispatch drivers, ensure top-tier customer service, and communicate with yard managers to meet transportation needs.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, familiarity with DOT regulations, and proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel. A proactive, team-oriented approach is required to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate freight movements.
• Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in locations.
• Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs.
• All other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with other departments and all levels of employees.
• Must always represent the company in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company’s image with employees, leadership, and the public.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.
• Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.

Preferred

• At least three years of experience in dispatch.
