Job summary

Montgomery ISD is hiring for a Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate bus dispatch, monitor radio communications, and answer and route telephone calls. The role involves recording absentee calls and assigning substitutes to cover routes as needed.

The ideal candidate will hold a Texas CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, be at least 18 years old, and bring a minimum of three years’ experience as a certified school bus driver.

Job description

Qualifications

Education/Certification

• Clear and valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
• Must be 18 years of age

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Ability to use maps and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to follow routes and locate addresses
• Ability to read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals
• Ability to receive and give written and verbal instructions
• Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Experience

• 3 years’ experience as certified school bus driver

NUMBER OF DAYS FOR THE POSITION

187 Days – Split Shift Schedule – Hours will be 4:30 AM-8:00 AM and 1:00 PM-5:30 PM
