Job description

Dispatcher/Supervisor

Transdev in Pasadena, CA is hiring a Dispatcher. The Dispatcher oversees road service through communication with Operators and provides customer support to the clients. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety.

Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement:

  • A competitive compensation package of $28.00/hr. - $30.00/hr.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee road service assigned carriers by tracking trip performance measures, route begin on time, performance, incidents, etc.

  • Communicates job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.

  • Conducts on-the-scene accident investigation; assists drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents

  • Provide customer support by responding to questions and concerns regarding customer trips including no shows, cancellations and missed trips.

  • Manage emergency situations for vehicle operators, act as liaison between the carrier and emergency services.

  • Manage daily service by reviewing route performance and proactively responding to situations that impact customer service.

  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Obtains a valid CDL required to operate all vehicles at location, maintains that license, and must be available to cover different routes periodically as needed

  • 1 Year Transit / Paratransit driving experience preferred; Previous Transit / Para-transit supervision experience is a plus

  • High School Diploma or GED; Technical Degree preferred.

  • 5-7 years' experience dispatching.

  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills.

  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be available to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, and/or looking at a computer screen.

  • Work environment will be a combination of both indoors and outdoors.

  • Strong ability to write clear and precise reports, which includes emails, explanation of service interruptions and daily events, meet daily reporting and safety requirements.
