Job summary

OU Health Sciences City Campus Police is seeking dispatchers to serve the university and its mission. You will be the eyes and ears for the police department, handling emergency calls, service requests, and monitoring security cameras and alarms.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Must obtain Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and prioritize simultaneous calls and dispatch responses to calls and alarms.
  • Control police radio frequencies and record all transmissions and logs.
  • Determine emergency scope and provide directions to locations.
  • Relay information to officers in the field.
  • Perform duties as needed to fulfill the role.

Pay Range: Targeted salary up to $18.00/hour, depending on experience.

This person could be you. The OU Health Sciences City Campus Police department is looking for individuals to serve the university and its mission as Dispatchers. You will be the eyes and the ears for the police department as you assist with emergency calls, service requests, and monitoring security cameras and alarms.

What You Will Do
  • Receive and prioritize simultaneous calls on multiple instruments and dispatches responses to calls for service and to alarms.
  • Control police radio frequencies, record and monitor all radio transmissions and incoming telephone calls and maintain required logs and records.
  • Determine whether an emergency is in the dispatch service area and provides accurate and clear directions to specific locations.
  • Relay records and information to officers in the field.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
Required Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • No experience required.
Required Certifications And Licenses
  • Valid Driver License to drive university vehicles
  • Must obtain Oklahoma Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems Terminal Operator Certification within 6 months of hire date
