- Sun, Mon, Thurs, Fri (4-days/10-hours)
- Mon, Tues, Weds, Sat (4-days/10-hours)
Purpose
Responsible for dispatching trucks for on-time departures, monitoring drivers, and communicating with customers about potential delays or issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Process customer invoices and assemble delivery paperwork
- Monitor shipping and route progress using SCI and PeopleNet Link, verifying on-time arrivals
- Manage driver packets and customer invoices
- Coordinate with customer care for late truck notifications and service escalations
- Sort, file invoices, route packets, and driver inspections
- Enter data related to equipment, driver times, and deliveries
- Handle incoming calls and emails
- Re-dispatch drivers as needed to ensure timely deliveries
- Dispatch repair services for equipment issues and handle accident reports
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Report policy violations to supervisors
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Transportation/Dispatch experience is preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of safety guidelines
- Ability to remain calm and professional in fast-paced, stressful situations
- Strong organizational and time management skills to work independently
- Effective communication skills across all levels of staff
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with delivery routes, DOT rules, and regulations
- Understanding of warehouse procedures for a comprehensive process overview
Physical Environment and Demands
- Primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment
- Sitting for extended periods at a desk or computer
- Regularly using hands for handling objects, reaching, talking, and hearing
- Use of calculators, keyboards, telephones, and office equipment
- Occasional stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching
- Infrequent exposure to temperatures from 20°F to 90°F in dock or outside areas
- Visual requirements include close, distance, and focus adjustments
