Job summary

NGV Talent in Lancaster, TX is seeking a Dispatcher to lead day-to-day autonomous trucking operations from our Lancaster terminal. The role requires initiative, strong judgment, and a clear point of view on running a high‑performing operation.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in dispatch, fleet operations, or a technical operations environment.
• Initiative and ability to own decisions without direction.
• Strong judgment under pressure and risk awareness.
• Identify process gaps and propose practical improvements.
• Demonstrated leadership, including coaching or supervision.
• Vision for improving and scaling an operation.
• Linux, scripting or terminal experience; troubleshoot hardware/software.
• Strong real-time coordination and prioritization skills.
• Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA Hours of Service rules.
• Clear written communication; comfortable working in ambiguity.
• Able to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Own day‑of execution across crews, trucks, trailers, and active missions
• Identify operational risks early and take action before they become larger issues
• Make real‑time decisions around mission execution, fleet health, and operational priorities
• Look beyond the immediate shift to identify recurring gaps and opportunities to improve how the operation runs
• Develop and implement stronger processes, handoffs, and operating standards
• Monitor active missions, autonomy health, and fleet status in real time
• Coordinate across operations, engineering, fleet readiness, safety, and commercial teams
• Serve as a first line of response and escalation for technical and operational issues
• Maintain accurate mission records, logs, delays, and shift handoffs

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in dispatch, fleet operations, mission control, or a technical operations environment

• Strong operational judgment and ability to make defensible decisions under pressure
• Ability to identify process gaps and develop practical solutions
• Demonstrated leadership ability, including coaching or supervising others
• Strong vision for how to improve and scale an operation
• Linux, scripting, coding, or computer terminal experience
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
• Strong real‑time coordination and prioritization skills
• Familiarity with DOT and FMCSA regulations, particularly Hours of Service
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Comfortable working in ambiguity and helping build structure where it does not yet exist
