Job summary

DO & CO AG in New York seeks an experienced Dispatcher to coordinate drivers, vehicles, and flights, ensuring on-time, safe deliveries and accurate meal distributions. You will oversee a large team of drivers and act as the main contact for airline clients and airport personnel.

The role emphasizes leadership, planning, and clear communication, with strict adherence to safety, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service. This position is on-site in New York.

Qualifications

  • At least one year of dispatching, transportation, logistics, airline catering, or a comparable fast-paced operation.
  • Driver's license preferred.
  • Strong leadership, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Clear and professional communication with drivers, airline representatives, airport personnel, and internal departments.
  • Confident decision-making and problem-solving in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay calm under changing operational demands.
  • Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Proficiency with TSA and U.S. Customs requirements and airport credentialing.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate transportation activities among DO & CO facilities, third-party vendors, airline clients, and the airport.
  • Plan, schedule, and communicate vehicle movements to ensure timely deliveries.
  • Monitor aircraft arrivals, departures, flight schedules, and operational updates.
  • Supervise drivers and helpers, coordinating schedules and documentation.
  • Serve as central contact for incoming calls and operational information from airline clients and airport personnel.
  • Communicate critical updates promptly to internal departments.
  • Process meal-order information and ensure timely distribution to relevant teams.
  • Confirm flights are prepared and dispatched on schedule.
  • Monitor vehicle readiness, fueling, maintenance, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Report defects or concerns and coordinate corrective action.
  • Maintain transportation databases and update operational reports.
  • Promote safety and ensure compliance with airport, airline, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Follow food safety standards and report concerns to Hygiene and Food Safety Team.
  • Perform additional duties while upholding DO & CO standards.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly organized Dispatcher to join our growing New York team!

As a Dispatcher, you will serve as a central point of communication for our transportation operations, coordinating drivers, vehicles, deliveries, and real-time flight activity. Your efficiency and sound decision-making will help ensure that every flight is catered accurately, safely, and on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate, and support a large team of drivers and driver helpers, including coordinating schedules and maintaining required documentation.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for incoming calls and operational information from airline clients and airport personnel.
  • Communicate critical updates promptly and accurately to the appropriate internal departments.
  • Process meal-order information and ensure timely, accurate distribution to all relevant teams.
  • Confirm that flights are properly prepared and dispatched on schedule.
  • Monitor vehicle readiness, including fueling, maintenance, required inspections, and regulatory compliance.
  • Report vehicle defects or operational concerns and coordinate timely corrective action.
  • Maintain accurate transportation databases and prepare, review, and update operational reports.
  • Promote a safe workplace and ensure compliance with applicable airport, airline, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene standards outlined in the Food Safety Management System Handbook.
  • Report food safety concerns to management and the Hygiene and Food Safety Team.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned while consistently upholding DO & CO standards.
Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in dispatching, transportation, logistics, airline catering, or a comparable fast-paced operation.
  • Driver's License, preferred.
  • Strong leadership, planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Clear and professional communication with drivers, airline representatives, airport personnel, and internal departments.
  • Confident decision-making and problem-solving skills in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Hands-on approach and commitment to ensuring every flight is dispatched accurately and on time.
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and responding calmly to changing operational demands.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and dedication to exceptional customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database systems.
  • Applicants must successfully complete the airport security-clearance process for their assigned location. This includes meeting applicable TSA and U.S. Customs requirements under 49 CFR
  • 1542.209 and obtaining the appropriate airport-issued identification badge, such as SIDA, AOA, or an equivalent credential.
  • Flexible availability, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
