Job summary

Indiana University Health in Bloomington is seeking a dispatcher to coordinate internal and external personnel for timely, safe patient transport and support services. You will answer calls, take messages, prioritize requests, and communicate workload and status across shifts in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The role requires 1-3 years of healthcare dispatch experience, a HS diploma, strong communication, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

Schedule: Monday- Friday; 8:00am- 2:00pm

Location: Command Center at IU Health Bloomington RAHC

Responsibilities:

• Receives and communicates requests (dispatching) and establishing priorities in order to dispatch internal and external personnel to specific destinations in an organized and timely fashion.
• In addition to answering telephone calls, service requests, takes accurate messages or transfers calls to appropriate individuals with a friendly voice and a sense of urgency.
• Communicates pending workload, staffing concerns, change and status with other dispatchers and other pertinent information to subsequent shift personnel.
• Customer requests are perceived as opportunities to help and requests are either handled or solutions are suggested.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience dispatching in a healthcare maintenance environment or comparable experience required.
• High School Diploma/GED required. Associates Degree preferred.
