  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • NWCG qualifications (IADP/ACDP/EDSP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee budget, inventory, grants, and dispatch system maintenance.
  • Coordinate with other dispatch supervisors and agency leadership for emergency response.

Company Description

Texas A&M Forest Service is the lead state agency for wildfire response in Texas and works to conserve and protect the resources that sustain our state. The agency works with communities, fire departments and local, state and federal partners to protect lives, property and natural resources through wildfire response, emergency management, forest conservation and community programs.

Role Description

The Dispatch Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in College Station, TX. This role provides leadership for assigned ESF4 Statewide Dispatch functions, including personnel, training, quality assurance and improvement, compliance, data interpretation and strategic planning. The Dispatch Supervisor works closely with other dispatch supervisors and agency leadership to maintain high-quality services and ensure seamless coordination during emergency response. Additional responsibilities include staff development, operational readiness, budget and inventory oversight, grant support and the maintenance of dispatch systems and equipment. Emergency response is an essential duty of this position.

Qualifications
  • Associate degree in emergency management, fire administration, business administration, science or a related field. A combination of education and experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Minimum of four years of experience with a fire or emergency response agency.
  • NIMS 100, 200, 700 and 800.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills with sound judgment and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead others, multitask, work cooperatively and work extended hours during emergency response operations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Valid Texas driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment.
  • Supervisory experience with a fire or emergency response agency is preferred.
  • NWCG qualifications in an assigned dispatch function area (IADP, ACDP or EDSP) are preferred.
