Job summary

Dispatch Specialist – Wyandotte, MI

As a Dispatch Specialist, you will manage communication with drivers and customers, maintain computer systems, and ensure timely service.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Facilitate professional communication with drivers via telephone and On-Board Computer System (OBCS)
• Execute essential AS‑400 functions to maintain computer systems
• Communicate issues with internal and external customers
• Complete thorough documentation of all driver and load issues
• Perform regular fleet scans to proactively identify and correct issues
• Maintain a high level of on‑time service

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

• Knowledge of FMCSR and U.S./Canadian geography
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and AS‑400
• Typing speed of 25 words per minute

It would be great if you also have:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Transportation or call center/customer service experience
• Solid attention to detail and follow‑up skills
• Motivation to work well with minimal supervision or in a team environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills and willingness to work collaboratively with diverse personalities
• Strong organizational, project and time management skills with ability to multitask and manage customer expectations
