Job summary

CRH plc in Dunn, NC is seeking a Logistics Dispatch Coordinator to coordinate and schedule customer deliveries while managing company trucks and outside haulers. You will liaise with sales, shipping, and operations to ensure timely dispatch and delivery reliability.

The role requires multitasking, strong communication, and a focus on DOT compliance. Candidates should be tech‑savvy, able to work overtime, and maintain accurate records in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school/GED required.
• Experience in building materials dispatch or transportation preferred.
• Knowledge of masonry and hardscapes products is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and basic computer skills.
• Strong verbal and mathematical abilities.
• Ability to read maps and use mapping tools.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process customer orders via telephone, email, and other electronic means.
• Prepare a shipping schedule that maintains accountability of all outgoing and incoming shipments.
• Coordinate with trucking fleet and outside haulers to meet delivery times and requirements.
• Communicate effectively with customers and truck drivers to dispatch orders timely.
• Familiar with the delivery area to assist with route and travel time planning.
• Build rapport with team members, drivers, vendors, sales, operations, and customers.
• Remain customer-focused and calm in fast-paced environments; multitask as needed.
• Understand NC and SC DOT/DMV regulations for trucking building products.
• Utilize tracking and scheduling software and learn new programs as introduced.
• Act quickly and creatively to solve problems; work independently.
• Maintain professional attitude and assist others as required.
• Perform opening/closing procedures; review daily reports and maintain records per policy.
• Work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary; reliable attendance required.
