Job summary

Maxim Crane is seeking an Assistant Dispatcher in Metairie, LA, to gain hands-on training across the branch dispatch duties. You will support coordinating, scheduling, and assigning labor and equipment, ensuring timely delivery to customers, and may occasionally perform Dispatcher duties.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' prior experience in equipment operations or admin support.
• Prior transportation and/or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required; Associate/Technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draw bars assigning cranes, trucks, and employees to all jobs the day before to provide an accurate daily activity spread sheet.
• Prepare daily dispatch reports and determine schedules.
• Coordinate with billing to ensure rates and job tickets are submitted accurately and timely.
• Assist in ensuring DOT and other regulations are followed by Maxim.
• Assist in dispatch of labor and equipment and maintain communication with operators and drivers.
• Check inspections have been completed and filed; address discrepancies.
• Perform weekly spot checks on rigging stock for cranes and warehouse stock.
