Summary
The Dispatch Coordinator manages daily distribution activities, ensuring accurate and timely product deliveries. Coordinates inventory, shipping, and logistics processes to meet operational goals. Monitors distribution performance and identifies opportunities for process improvements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assesses distribution operations and processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to optimize performance.
  • Assists in managing distribution workflows, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to meet customer expectations and delivery timelines.
  • Conduct more complex inventory audits, identifying discrepancies and ensuring corrective actions are taken to prevent future issues.
  • Confers with senior management to develop strategies to improve distribution efficiency and align with business goals.
  • Constructs and implements distribution schedules to ensure timely delivery of products, coordinating with other departments as needed.
  • Develops more complex distribution plans for special projects or large orders, ensuring all logistics are managed to meet client expectations.
  • Ensures compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards within the distribution operations, conducting regular reviews and process updates.
  • Generate weekly concrete pour schedule and submit requests to concrete suppliers
  • Schedule concrete pumping requests as needed per project
  • Schedule concrete sawing and demolition requests as needed per project
  • Schedule initial placement and removal of equipment storage units, fuel tanks, and concrete washout units
  • Confirm concrete pours and reschedule as necessary based on weather or job site delays
  • Distribute daily pour schedule to field team, layout/engineering, and safety department

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • A high school diploma and a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a production control/planning environment are required.

  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplaces and job locations
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check related to driving
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in construction management, business administration, or business management.
  • 3-5 Years’ experience in working for a major construction company in the dispatch department.
  • Previous experience working for a major concrete construction company in a similar capacity.

Work Environment/Physical Demand
This position works outside at job locations, shops, equipment yards, and other Kent Companies facilities, traveling to and from projects daily. This position will demand long periods of walking, standing, and working in all sorts of weather (hot, cold, and rainy days).

Position type, travel, and expected hours of work

  • This is a full-time office position with considerable time spent in the field on job sites.
  • Typical hours will range from 45-50 hours per week and are subject to change. This role requires working non-typical days and irregular hours based on construction schedules. Due to the critical nature of the role, accepting phone calls even during non-typical workdays and hours is also necessary.
  • Typical travel and visiting jobs in and around Dallas should be expected. Limited occasional travel outside of the state may occur..
