Job summary

Farmers Electric Cooperative is seeking a team-oriented dispatcher to join our Dispatch team in an automated environment providing 24-hour service to our members. Responsibilities include dispatching crews, monitoring radios, maintaining outage logs, and performing data entry and switchboard tasks.

Qualified applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong PC skills (spreadsheet/word processing) and the ability to stay calm in crises.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong PC skills including spreadsheet and word processing software.
• Ability to work calmly and effectively in crisis situations.
• Work well with the general public.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Able to work varying shifts and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Dispatch utility crews to service calls and emergencies.
• Monitor radio communications for dispatch responses.
• Maintain outage records and various logs.
• Perform customer service, data entry and switchboard functions.
• Work hours vary; overtime, holidays and weekends may be required.
