Job summary

LKQ Corporation in Virginia is seeking motivated individuals for the Processing Department. You will assist with dismantling vehicles, tagging and storing parts, and learning engine dismantling under supervision.

The role emphasizes safety, efficiency, and teamwork in a fast-paced shop environment. You may be asked to perform organizational tasks for the production team, follow standard procedures, and help ensure hazardous areas stay compliant and hazard-free.

Qualifications

• Background in body repair, mechanical, or dismantling experience.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Having your own tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist dismantler/trainer with dismantling vehicles.
• Learn and complete the system of dismantling, tagging and storing parts.
• Work with engine dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.
• Comply with safety standards to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
• Assist dismantlers with draining operations.
• Assist Production Manager with organizational tasks.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Responsible for performing day-to-day activities of the Processing Department following current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Production Manager to assure that the automobiles are dismantled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.

Essential Job Duties

• Assist Dismantler/Trainer with dismantling vehicles.
• Learn and complete the system of dismantling, tagging and storing of all parts.
• Work with Engine Dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.
• Comply with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace.
• Assist dismantlers with draining operations.
• Assist production Manager with organizational tasks.
• Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Not responsible for supervising employees.

Minimum Requirements

• Background in either body repair, mechanical, or previous dismantling experience.
• Experience preferred but not required.
• Having your own tools is a plus.

Preferred Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Basic computer skills.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.
• The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE). May be exposed to extreme temperatures and high noise levels.
• Travel may be required periodically, including overnight stays (contingent on position requirements).
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
