Job summary

LKQ Corporation is seeking motivated individuals to join the Processing Department. The role focuses on dismantling vehicles safely, tagging and storing parts, and supporting engine dismantling when needed.

Responsibilities include following safety standards, assisting with draining operations, and performing supervisor-guided tasks. Prior experience is preferred but not required; owning tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Basic math skills: add/subtract/multiply/divide in all units.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow simple written/spoken instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist dismantlers with vehicle dismantling and tagging.
• Learn dismantling processes and storage of parts.
• Collaborate with engine dismantlers to understand engine removal.
• Follow safety guidelines to maintain a hazard-free workplace.
• Assist with draining operations and organizational tasks.
• Support supervisors with assigned tasks as needed.

Apply now and take the first step toward a rewarding career!Responsible for performing day-to-day activities of the Processing Department following current federal, state/provincial, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing this facility, and as may be directed by the Production Manager to assure that the automobiles are dismantled in a safe, efficient, and proper manner.Essential Job DutiesAssist Dismantler/Trainer with dismantling vehicles.Learn and complete the system of dismantling, tagging and storing of all parts.Work with Engine Dismantlers as needed to learn engine dismantling.Comply with all safety standards and requirements to ensure a safe and hazard-free workplace.Assist dismantlers with draining operations.Assist production Manager with organizational tasks.Assume other duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNot responsible for supervising employees.Minimum RequirementsEducation & ExperienceBackground in either body repair, mechanical, or previous dismantling experience.Experience preferred but not required.Having your own tools is a plus.Preferred RequirementsHigh School Diploma/GEDKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Basic computer skills.Basic messages communicated orally. May write brief messages and keep simple records.Problems encountered are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures.Follows standard procedures with no decision-making involved.Uses guidance/guidelines provided by supervisor/manager.Assignments/priorities provide by supervisor/manager.Essential Physical Demands/Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or sit for extended periods.The employee may be exposed to hazardous situations, conditions, and equipment. Must be able to work in cramped spaces or underneath vehicles that may require getting into awkward positions. May regularly wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
