Job summary

Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah seeks a dishwashing associate to maintain a sanitary, safe, and clean Culinary Services area in line with hospital and Joint Commission standards. This PRN role requires afternoon availability (3:30pm–9:30pm), including weekends and holidays, with three shifts per week as needed.

Responsibilities include washing dishes, cleaning, waste disposal, and collaborating with diverse teams in a fast-paced kitchen environment while handling water and cleaning

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification required by first day of work (Utah/Idaho)
• Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals and follow directions
• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

• Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Shift Details: PRN position. Primarily Afternoon availability needed for this position (3:30pm - 9:30pm), Including Weekends and assigned holidays. Will help cover vacant shifts as needed within the department. MUST be available to work 3 Afternoon / Evening shifts per week.

Located at Intermountain Medical Center Culinary Services

Additional Details: Work is performed in a fast-paced dishroom environment and includes pot washing, dish collection from patient care areas, dish scraping, waste removal, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen operation. This role involves dishwashing duties. Requires working around water and standard dishwashing chemicals. Candidate must demonstrate strong collaboration abilities, working effectively with diverse teams to achieve department objectives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
