Job summary

Intermountain Health Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, UT is seeking a PRN dishwashing/housekeeping assistant to support the Culinary Department, maintaining sanitary conditions and complying with Joint Commission standards.

The role involves cleaning dishes, sanitizing work areas, and operating the dish machine while following safety protocols. Shifts are on-call and may include mornings, afternoons, and evenings, with compensation based on experience.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required).
• One or more year of experience in food services or housekeeping services (preferred).
• Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions.
• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Work Schedule PRN, on call or as needed Dish Room & Housekeeping Position Pay Rate: Based on Experience ($17.43 - $22.29) Availability needed: Sunday-Saturday for variable shifts Shift Assignments: 7am or 8am-4:30pm, 2pm-10:30pm, 5pm-10pm

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment.
• Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
• Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
