Job description

Responsible for the production and preparation of menu items under the direct supervision of kitchen management. Additional responsibilities include cleaning all dishware; maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, storerooms, and equipment; and transporting dishes, china, and equipment between storage and work areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Prepares kitchen line and all necessary products for service following checklists.
  2. Able to work at assigned station in the kitchen.
  3. Receives and checks in purchased items to ensure accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  4. Transports supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  5. Cleans kitchen equipment, washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks. Reorganizes work area in preparation for the next shift.
  6. Uses proper equipment, including dishwashing machines, to wash, sanitize, and dry plates, glassware, flatware, dishes, pots, pans, etc.
  7. Follows company procedures and uses cleaning chemicals as directed.
  8. Returns all clean kitchen utensils and equipment to proper storage locations.
  9. Segregates and removes trash and garbage, places in designated containers, and takes out trash and recycling. Cleans and maintains interior and exterior trash areas. Sweeps and mops floors.
  10. Complies with company, local, state, and national regulations regarding food quality, cleanliness, sanitation standards, and safety.
  11. Completes all other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  1. 6 months to 1-year related experience in a high-volume, high-energy food and beverage environment.
  2. Working knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations related to food, safety, and sanitation.
  3. Availability to work nights and weekends as needed.
  4. Regularly required to move about and operate kitchen station tools and equipment.
  5. Ability to communicate with guests, employees, and management.
  6. Must be able to move up to 50 pounds frequently.
  7. Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
PREFERRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Food handler certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
