Description

Responsible for the production and preparation of menu items under direct supervision of kitchen management. Additional responsibilities include cleaning all dishware, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, storerooms, and equipment, and transporting dishes, china, and equipment between storage and work areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Prepares kitchen line and all necessary products for service following checklists.
  2. Able to work assigned station in kitchen.
  3. Receives and checks in purchased items to ensure accuracy, quality, and quantity.
  4. Transports supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
  5. Cleans kitchen equipment, washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks, and reorganizes work area for the next shift.
  6. Cleans debris from dishes, uses proper equipment including dishwashing machines to wash, sanitize, and dry dishes, pots, pans, etc.
  7. Uses cleaning chemicals as directed and follows company procedures.
  8. Returns all clean utensils and equipment to proper storage.
  9. Segregates and removes trash and garbage, takes out trash and recycling, cleans trash areas, and mops floors.
  10. Complies with food safety, cleanliness, sanitation standards, and safety regulations.
  11. Completes other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 6 months to 1-year related experience in a high-volume, high-energy food and beverage environment.
  • Working knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and relevant regulations.
  • Availability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to move about frequently and operate kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Food handler certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
