Job summary

Legends Alamodome is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to maintain a clean kitchen, wash dishes, and keep the dish area organized. The role supports the Executive Chef and Sous Chef and requires adherence to safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include operating dish machines, restocking supplies, assisting with deliveries, and helping in kitchen prep as needed. A Food Handlers Permit is required, and the position may include evening and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; must be at least 18 years old.
• Food Handlers Permit required per San Antonio Metropolitan Health District.
• English preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor dish water temperature during sanitized wash cycle and record temperature on log.
• Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware, and kitchen items using dish machines or by hand.
• Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas after air-drying.
• Clean work areas including equipment, floors, walls, and cooking areas.
• Ensure chemicals for dish machine and 3-compartment sink are kept filled.
• Keep all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly.
• Remove trash from kitchen and transport to dumpster and sanitize garbage cans.
• Assist with accepting delivery items and storage of such items.
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or carts.
• Occasionally assist in kitchen prep.
• Must adhere to Legends dress code: black pants and non-slip closed toe shoes.

Dishwasher POSITION: Dishwasher DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage REPORTS TO: Executive Chef & Sous Chef FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt SUMMARY Legends Alamodome, Dishwasher. The Dishwasher maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes and keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Ensure that the dish area is setup properly, including dish machine and sinks, in accordance with Legends applicable standards and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor dish water temperature during sanitized wash cycle and record temperature on log
• Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware, and kitchen items using dish machines or by hand
• Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas after they have air-dried
• Clean work areas including equipment, floors, walls, and cooking areas
• Ensure that all chemicals for dish machine and 3-compartment sink are kept filled
• Keeps all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly
• Remove trash from kitchen and transport to dumpster and clean/sanitize all garbage cans

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Must be at least 18 years of age Food Handlers Permit Required in accordance with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

WORKING CONDITIONS

Will be in contact with chemical cleaning agents Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass, metal cans, scalds and burns, slipping and tripping Frequently immerses hands in water; works frequently in a hot and damp environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
