Job summary

Legends Alamodome is hiring a part-time dishwasher to maintain a clean kitchen, wash and sort soiled dishes, and keep the dish area organized according to Legends standards.

Responsibilities include monitoring wash temperatures, loading and unloading dishware, assisting with deliveries, and supporting kitchen prep as needed. Must follow safety guidelines and dress code; Food Handlers Permit is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Food Handlers Permit required per local health district.
• Ability to follow directions and work in a team.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor dish water temperature during wash cycle and log it.
• Wash dishes, glassware, pots, pans and kitchen items.
• Return clean items to storage after air drying.
• Clean work areas and ensure clean dish machine and sinks.
• Ensure chemicals for dish machine and sink are stocked.
• Maintain clean and orderly storage areas; assist with deliveries.
• Move supplies between storage and work areas; may assist in prep.
• Adhere to Legends dress code (black pants, non-slip shoes).

Dishwasher

POSITION: Dishwasher

DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage

REPORTS TO: Executive Chef & Sous Chef

FLSA STATUS: Part-time Hourly, Non-Exempt

Summary

• Legends Alamodome, Dishwasher. The Dishwasher maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes, and sorts soiled dishes and keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Ensure that the dish area is setup properly, including dish machine and sinks, in accordance with Legends applicable standards and procedures.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Monitor dish water temperature during sanitized wash cycle and record temperature on log
• Washes dishes, glassware, pots, pans, flatware, and kitchen items using dish machines or by hand
• Places clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas after they have air-dried
• Clean work areas including equipment, floors, walls, and cooking areas
• Ensure that all chemicals for dish machine and 3-compartment sink are kept filled
• Keeps all kitchen wares storage areas clean and orderly
• Remove trash from kitchen and transport to dumpster and clean/sanitize all garbage cans
• Assists with accepting delivery items and storage of such items
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or using carts
• Occasionally assist in kitchen prep
• Must adhere to the Legends dress code which includes wearing black pants and non-slip soled closed toe shoes

Education And/Or Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Food Handlers Permit Required in accordance with the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District

Skills And Abilities

• Ability to understand and follow direction

• Ability to complete required pre-employment food service training, if applicable

• English preferred as primary language, but not required

• Will be in contact with chemical cleaning agents
• Hazards include, but are not limited to, cuts from broken glass, metal cans, scalds and burns, slipping and tripping
• Frequently immerses hands in water; works frequently in a hot and damp environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Ability to stand and walk for entire length of shift
• Ability to lift and carry supplies and equipment up to 60 pounds and place items on high and low shelves
• Frequently required to reach up to 6-7 feet, twist at waist, bending and squatting
• Pushing and pulling occasionally, to move equipment, mops and brooms
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed by events.
