Thrive Restaurant Group, the owner of Carlos O'Kelly's, seeks a General Utility to support back-of-house operations in Wichita, KS. You will maintain kitchen areas, equipment, plateware and utensils, keep them clean and organized, assist in food preparation, and be cross-trained across kitchen roles.

The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability and a positive attitude in a fast-paced restaurant environment. No minimum experience required; willingness to work in a hot, damp setting is essential.

Qualifications

• Desire to care for others, grow and learn.
• Positive attitude.
• Transports cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Ability to place plates, utensils, pans on shelves.
• Works indoors (90%), outdoors (10%); hot and damp environment.
• Respond to emergencies to avoid danger.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, plate ware and utensils; keep clean, sanitary and orderly.
• Assist in food preparation activities.
• Cross-train in all kitchen department roles.
• Scrape and pre-rinse food from dirty dishes; operate dishwashing machine (50%).
• Wash pots, pans, and trays by hand and/or machine (15%).
• Complete all assigned prep work (10%).
• Remove trash to dumpster area (10%).
• Wash work area tables, walls, refrigerator equipment, cooking equipment and floors (5%).
• Clean garbage cans and trash receptacles (5%).
• Assemble, maintain and break down the dish machine (5%).
