Job summary

Blue Plate Catering is seeking a Dishwasher to perform pot and dishwashing duties and maintain sanitary kitchen standards. You will assist with storing supplies, cleaning, and general kitchen upkeep, following safety procedures and company policies.

Ideal candidates will have the ability to follow instructions, be reliable and punctual, and possess English language skills; certification in food service preferred or obtainable within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform duties with accuracy and urgency as part of kitchen operations.
• Certification in City of Chicago Department of Public Health Food Service preferred or obtainable within 30 days.
• English reading, writing and speaking required; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Follow pot sink and dishwashing machine setup and breakdown procedures.
• Clean and sort items from events; assist Cooler Expeditor Manager as needed.
• Wash and sanitize pots and pans; store items correctly.
• Dispose of waste and sort recyclables; maintain cleanliness throughout shift.
• Sweep, mop, and reset floors and mats; maintain clean kitchen areas.
• Adhere to cleaning schedule set by Culinary Management; uphold hygiene standards.
• Report to work in proper uniform; perform other duties as required.
