Job summary

Prime Independent Living in West Knoxville is seeking dependable Kitchen Porters / Dishwashers to support our culinary operations for residents and guests. You will wash and sanitize dishes, keep a clean, organized dishwashing area, and assist with basic food prep as part of a collaborative kitchen team.

We offer full-time and part-time opportunities. A Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen, dishwashing, or food service experience preferred, but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
• Dependable, hardworking, and team-oriented attitude.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Food Handler Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

Dishwashing & Kitchen Organization

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.

• Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and properly stored.

• Maintain a clean, organized dishwashing area to support efficient kitchen operations.

• Help keep dishes, utensils, and equipment readily available for the culinary team.

Cleanliness & Sanitation

• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, including countertops, sinks, and floors.

• Remove trash and recycling while maintaining clean, orderly waste disposal areas.

• Assist with routine and deep cleaning of kitchen equipment and workspaces.

• Follow established health, safety, and sanitation standards to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.

Culinary Team Support

• Assist with basic food preparation as needed.

• Help keep kitchen stations stocked, organized, and ready for daily service.

• Support receiving, organizing, and properly storing kitchen deliveries.

• Work collaboratively with culinary team members to keep daily operations running efficiently.

• Contribute to a positive, team-focused environment built on reliability, accountability, and pride in great service.

What We're Looking For
