This position requires attention to detail, speed, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance with healthcare safety standards.

Essential Job Functions

• Sanitation & Cleaning:
• • Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and food preparation areas in compliance with healthcare facility standards.
  • Operate commercial dishwashing machines and ensure proper use of detergents and sanitizing agents.
  • Hand-wash and sanitize delicate kitchen items as necessary.
• Waste Management:
• • Properly dispose of food waste and garbage, adhering to waste management policies and infection control guidelines.
  • Assist in the removal of recycling and composting materials.
• Kitchen Support:
• • Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks as needed, such as peeling vegetables, preparing ingredients, and assembling trays for meal service.
  • Help with the setup, cleaning, and breakdown of food service areas.
• Compliance & Safety:
• • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including those specific to healthcare environments (e.g., infection control standards).
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following health department codes and Hygea Healthcare policies.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor immediately.

Education and Experience
