Job summary

Out West Restaurant Group is hiring for a back-of-house position at Outback Steakhouse in Torrance, CA. The role is hourly and non-exempt, with a wage of $16.90–$18.00 per hour and no tipping. You will support kitchen operations, keep dishwashing areas organized, and help maintain food safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ year BOH experience in full-service restaurant preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• California-specific requirement: Responsible Beverage Service Certifications required (can be completed during training, up to 60 days after start).

Responsibilities

• Maintains smooth kitchen operations by keeping dishwashing areas organized.
• Manages tasks to support kitchen workflow.
• Follows all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Restocks kitchen and cooking line as needed.
• Performs routine cleaning of the kitchen and related areas.
• Operates dish machine and manages water/chemicals safely.
• Keeps floors clean/dry and ensures proper washing of dishes and utensils.
• Maintains storage and receiving areas in health-compliant condition.
• Reports unsafe practices and supports team when needed.
