Job summary

Benihana - Downey is seeking a Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. You will help keep dishes, glassware, and utensils clean while supporting the BOH team to ensure smooth operations in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include sanitation, proper waste disposal, and assisting with basic prep as needed. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and adherence to safety standards in a dynamic dining environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher or in a kitchen support role preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with attention to cleanliness.
• Willingness to support BOH team and follow safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in dishwashing areas and storage.
• Operate dishwashing machines and ensure proper chemical stock.
• Assist with trash removal and waste disposal according to procedures.
• Keep kitchen floors and workstations free of hazards.
• Store kitchen tools and equipment properly and ready for use.
• Collaborate with BOH team to keep service running smoothly.
• Follow health department sanitation requirements and safety guidelines.
• Assist with basic prep work and food handling as needed.
• Execute tasks assigned by Chefs and Kitchen Leadership.
