Base pay range
$15.00/hr - $15.00/hr
NOTE: This application is for a part-time, non-residential (live off campus), seasonal staff position beginning in early-May through late-October 2024.

Summary
Omega Foodworks is the main dining facility at Omega Institute. Each year the Foodworks team produces more than 300,000 plant-based, farm-to-table meals. All dishwashers are directly accountable to Chef Team & Dining Hall Management.
Essential Functions
- Maintain & clear dishes from dish return window during meals
- Maintain & clear dish wash counter area during the shift
- Rinse and rack items to be sent through machine
- Operate dish machine (Jackson) as directed by manager
- Replenish soap and rinse as directed by managers
- Return cleaned items to correct storage spaces
- Organize storage spaces as needed
- Alert Manager to any issues preventing them from completing job assignments
- Wash, rinse & sanitize large kitchen items in pot wash area as directed by managers
- Maintaining cleanliness of dish area & pot wash
- Check in with DH & kitchen management before closing down Jackson area
- Turn off, drain, disassemble & clean dish machine as directed by managers
- Clear, wash & sanitize Jackson counter area
- Remove mats, sweep & mop Jackson area
- Provide support to other kitchen stations as needed (including dining hall and prep)
- Requires working around knives and hot steam; carrying hot pans
- Regularly lift/carry/move heavy items
- Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner

Physical Requirements
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions
- Frequently move items that weigh 30-50 pounds for various needs
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Must be able to traverse a hilly campus in diverse weather conditions
- Must be able to position self to perform diverse job tasks as necessary
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ability to observe details at close range

Compensation
Non-residential seasonal staff work full-time or part-time between early-May and the late-October. They receive a compensation package that includes:
- Hourly wage (this varies by position and is at minimum above New York State minimum wage).
