Job summary

Bayview Seattle is seeking a Food Services Waitstaff member for a full-time position with a 7:30AM to 3:30PM schedule. The role includes maintaining and cleaning kitchen utensils, dishes, and work areas, with cross-training across three areas and assistance with other food service tasks as needed.

Qualifying candidates will have English communication ability, knowledge of safe food handling, a Washington Food Handler’s permit, and a patient, caring attitude toward residents.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in English with residents, staff and managers.
• Familiarity with safe food handling practices and regulations.
• Holds current State of Washington Food Handler’s permit.
• Demonstrates patience, a genuine caring attitude toward the elderly and disabled persons, flexibility, a positive outlook, the ability to focus on the strengths of other people, and a healthy sense of humor.

Responsibilities

• Maintains kitchen dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, equipment, and work areas clean, orderly and sanitary.
• Although the Dishwasher may be assigned to specialize in one of three areas, you are expected to be cross-trained and available to perform the duties in all three areas as well as to assist as requested with other Food Service tasks.

The Dishwasher assists in maintaining the kitchen dishes, cups, glasses, flatware, cooking utensils, pots, pans, equipment, and work areas clean, orderly and sanitary. Although the Dishwasher may be assigned to specialize in one of three areas (i.e., washing dishes, washing pots and pans, or cleaning work areas), you are expected to be cross-trained and available to perform the duties in all three areas as well as to assist as requested with other Food Service tasks.
