Job summary

Nisqually Red Wind Casino in Olympia, WA is seeking a dishwashing/kitchen assistant to maintain the cleanliness of the dish room and ensure a sanitary work area. You will wash, store, and prep dishware for service while supporting Back of House and Front of House teams during busy periods.

Requirements include a Food Handlers permit, initiative, and the ability to work peak hours. Safety, teamwork, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Assist other kitchen staff during peak times as needed.

JOB SUMMARY

Properly wash and store all dishes, pots and pans trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment for the department. Maintain the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular and continuing basis.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
• Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
• Required to be able to reach with hands and arms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

• Set up and break down dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets.
• Clean and polish machine thoroughly, removing any paper and hosing down interior.
• Check machine to be sure it is operating correctly and report any defects immediately.? Wash and store in proper places all dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Check water temperature during dishwashing operation to ensure proper temperature.
• Remove trash from dish room and place in dumpster.
• Clean and sanitize garbage cans and keep clean liners in cans at all times.
• Clean and keep neat dish room area including detergent storage area and belt line.
• Keep all lowerators clean, polished, and neatly stored.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
