Explorus is seeking a friendly Dishwasher to join the team at Starved Rock Lodge in Illinois. You’ll help keep the dish-room clean and all kitchenware sanitized, supporting back-of-house staff in a busy hospitality setting.

Responsibilities include adhering to cleaning procedures, organizing and restocking items, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and following safety manuals. No prior experience required; a Food Handler certificate is preferred, and the role is on-site with varied shifts.

Position Summary

Dishwashers provide a clean and safe kitchen area, keeping the dish-room and equipment clean and organized at all times.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to the company’s dishwashing procedures to ensure that all expectations regarding the cleaning, sanitizing and storing of dishware and utensils are met.
• Work closely as a team with back of house kitchen staff to ensure that all kitchenware is cleaned in a timely, safe and efficient manner.
• Organize items as they are cleaned, restock areas where items are stored.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstation, kitchen, and food storage areas.
• Complete daily and weekly cleaning assignments.
• Follow all procedures outlined in department and health and safety manuals in accordance with company policies and follow proper use and storage of chemicals used to clean kitchen items.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to take direction and change tasks quickly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and carry up to 25 lbs.
• Majority of shift will be spent on feet in a fast-paced environment, in close proximity to other people
• Must be willing to work a variety of shifts including days, weekends, evenings and holidays as needed

Education and Experience

Education: Some general schooling
Illinois Food Handler certificate or Food Sanitation license
Experience: None required
