Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a reliable dishwasher to support a fast-paced kitchen in New York. You will wash dishes, sanitize items, and maintain a clean dishwashing area while supporting deliveries and cross-training across roles.

No formal experience required, but dexterity and knowledge of health and safety in kitchens are valued. This full-time role offers growth opportunities and benefits including health, dental, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a dishwasher preferred but not required.
• Dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines and handle pots/pans.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops.
• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly; report any malfunctions to the Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.
• Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.
• Cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to support rapid growth in responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Must be familiar with the measurement system.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend and reach overhead often.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
