Job summary

Pura Vida Miami is seeking a reliable dishwasher to support a busy kitchen. You will wash dishes, sanitize cookware and utensils, and help maintain a clean, safe dining environment.

No prior dishwasher experience is required; the role welcomes a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting. You may assist with deliveries, restocking supplies, and cross-training across roles as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience as a dishwasher preferred but not required.
• Dexterity to operate industrial dishwashers and handle pots/pans.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen.
• Familiarity with the measurement system.
• Strong work ethic and ability to work fast-paced.
• Ability to bend, reach overhead, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure items are cleaned and sanitized per health and safety regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area (floors, walls, countertops).
• Operate and report issues with dishwashing equipment to Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies (detergent, sanitizers, towels) as needed.
• Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and storing items appropriately.
• Cross-train across roles in the restaurant to support growth.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.

• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.

• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.

• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.

• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.

• Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.

• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.

• Show willingness and ability to cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to ensure rapid growth in responsibilities and contribution to team success.

• Support with any additional duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is preferred but not required.

• Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.

• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.

• Must be familiar with the measurement system.

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to bend and reach overhead often.

• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
