Job summary

Pura Vida Miami in Tampa, FL is seeking a reliable dishwasher to support a fast-paced kitchen. You will clean dishes, maintain hygiene standards, and help keep the kitchen organized and efficient.

The role offers growth opportunities and a team-centric environment. Prior dishwashing experience is welcome but not required; physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds are important.

Qualifications

• Previous dishwasher experience is preferred but not required.
• Must operate industrial dishwashing machines and handle pots/pans with care.
• Understand health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Familiar with measurement system.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to bend and reach overhead often.
• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops.
• Report malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels.
• Sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in storage areas.
• Cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to support growth.
• Perform any additional duties as assigned.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
• Ensure all items are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including floors, walls, and countertops. Regularly remove trash and place it in designated containers.
• Handle and maintain dishwashing equipment properly. Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the Kitchen Manager.
• Replenish cleaning supplies, such as dish detergent, sanitizers, and towels, as needed.
• Properly sort and organize clean dishes, utensils, and equipment for easy access and efficiency in the kitchen.
• Assist in receiving deliveries and putting them away in appropriate storage areas.
• Show willingness and ability to cross-train across various roles in the restaurant to ensure rapid growth in responsibilities and contribution to team success.
• Support with any additional duties assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a dishwasher in a restaurant or similar environment is preferred but not required.
• Must possess dexterity to operate industrial dishwashing machines, handle pots/pans, and other equipment, and perform tasks with attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations in a kitchen setting.
• Must be familiar with the measurement system.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to bend and reach overhead often.
• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds.
