Grimm Tavern is a neighborhood tavern rooted in warm hospitality and American comfort food served in a convivial atmosphere filled with regulars.

Breadwiper at Grimm Tavern.

Compensation $19-20/hour | Part‑Time

About the Company

Grimm is a 100% family‑owned brewery based in Brooklyn, New York. It has been named New York State Brewery of the Year by the state brewer’s association in 2021, 2022, 2024, 2025, and 2026. Grimm Tavern is our newest venture: a full‑service restaurant in Prospect Heights serving refined tavern food alongside our beers and wines. Grimm Goods offers coffee and prepared foods. We hold ourselves to a higher standard of execution.

What You’ll Do

• Run the dish station from open to close. Wash, sanitize, and organize all plates, glassware, flatware, pots, pans, sheet trays, and kitchen equipment throughout service.
• Keep the dish pit organized and efficient. Anticipate what the line needs before they need to ask.
• Return clean dishes, cookware, and utensils to their proper places promptly so the line can function.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the kitchen: sweep and mop floors, wipe down surfaces, and empty trash and recycling.
• Receive and break down deliveries when needed.
• Help with basic prep tasks as time allows and as directed by the chef.
• Maintain full compliance with NYC Department of Health regulations. Clean as you go.
• Show up on time, in clean uniform, ready to work.

What We’re Looking For

• Prior dish or kitchen experience is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided.
• You can keep up in a fast‑paced service environment.
• You work clean and organized. Your station reflects the overall kitchen.
• Reliable, on time, and ready to put in real work.
• You take direction well and communicate clearly when you need something.
• You take pride in the work, even when no one is watching.
• NYC Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler’s License) preferred — we’ll help you obtain it if you don’t have one.

This is a fast‑paced kitchen in a brand‑new restaurant. You’ll be helping build systems and culture from day one.
