Job summary

Yona is seeking a Dishwasher to join our team. You will handle basic dishwashing, assist with light food prep under supervision, and maintain clean, sanitary kitchen areas in compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a dishwasher, preferably in a kitchen setting.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines applicable to food service.
• Friendly with good communication skills and reliability.
• Good physical condition and stamina to stand and lift data during shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent; food services certification is a plus.
• Must provide a criminal background check as part of hiring.

Responsibilities

• Receives, collects soiled dishes; washes dishes according to sanitary guidelines and rules.
• Cleans equipment as assigned by chef or cook.
• Help with basic food preparation under direction of chef or cook, following Safe food handling.
• Maintains dishwashing areas and dishware storage areas in clean condition per guidelines.
• Cleans workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes as directed.
• Loads and unloads the dishwasher; stores clean equipment and dishes in designated areas.
• Uses supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste.
• Communicates with Chef or Cook throughout the shift to meet residents’ needs.
• Attends in-service education as assigned and applies information to tasks.
• Complies with confidentiality and privacy practices and all relevant laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Uses food preparation equipment properly and follows proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Communicates with Chef or Cook throughout the shift as needed to best meet needs of the residents.
• Attends in-service education as assigned and applies information to job tasks.
• Complies with the Community's Confidentiality and Privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state/federal privacy laws.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a dishwasher.
• Further experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
• Friendly with good communication skills
• Good physical condition and stamina
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus
• Must provide a criminal background check
