Job summary

Traditions, Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a dependable Dishwasher to support our kitchen team and maintain clean, safe dining and service areas for residents.

You will wash dishes and assist with basic food prep under supervision, following health regulations and chef directions. Responsibilities include maintaining clean dishwashing areas, handling equipment, and communicating with the cook throughout shifts to meet residents' needs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a dishwasher.
• Knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Friendly with good communication skills.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• High school diploma or equivalent; certification in food services is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Receives, collects soiled dishes; washes dishes according to sanitary guidelines and rules.
• Cleans equipment as assigned by chef or cook.
• Help with basic food preparation under direction of chef or cook as directed, in compliance with Safe food handling.
• Maintains dishwashing areas and dishware storage areas in clean condition at all times in accordance with rules and regulations and as directed by chef.
• Cleans workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to department procedures.
• Loads and unloads the dishwasher; stores clean equipment and dishes in designated areas.
• Uses food supplies and equipment in an efficient manner to prevent waste.
• Uses food preparation equipment properly and follows proper cleaning techniques and preventative maintenance schedules.
• Communicates with Chef or Cook throughout the shift as needed to best meet needs of the residents.
• Attends in-service education as assigned and applies information to job tasks.
• Complies with the Community's Confidentiality and Privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state/federal privacy laws.
• Other duties as assigned.
