Job summary

Talk of the Town Restaurant Group in Lakeland, FL is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to clean dishware, pots, pans and utensils, and keep back‑of‑house areas tidy. You may assist with basic food prep and receiving orders as needed, reporting to the Corporate/Executive Chef and Sous Chefs.

Ideal candidates show a willingness to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, can follow directions, and are committed to neat, organized work habits. 5‑day dinner service schedule.

Qualifications

  • Experience in dishwashing or bussing is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Clean all dishware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Meat room and prep areas.
  • Remove all garbage and keep back dock and dumpster area organized.
  • Assist with basic food prep and vendor food orders.
  • Support management with daily kitchen housekeeping tasks.

Overview

This position supports the Management Team by cleaning all dishware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans and returning them to correct storage. The Dishwasher will be responsible for daily cleaning of the Meat room, prep areas, taking out all garbage and keeping the back dock and garbage dumpster area clean and organized. The Dishwasher may perform some basic food prep duties as assigned and may be required to help put away food orders as they arrive from vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean all dishware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Meat room and prep areas.
  • Remove all garbage and keep the back dock and garbage dumpster area organized.
  • Assist with basic food prep duties and help put away vendor food orders.
  • Support the Management Team with daily kitchen housekeeping tasks.
Requirements
Education

Preferred: Working toward a High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Experience

Dishwashing or Bussing experience recommended, but not required.

  • Efficiently manage the rigorous demands of the restaurant business.

Physical Requirements
  • Use of legs and feet, arms and hands, walk, stand, and carry up to 50 lb.
  • Ability to see and hear within normal standards with corrective devices if necessary.
Mental Requirements

Read, write, and speak English; basic math skills; work under pressure.

Working Conditions

This person will work in a kitchen atmosphere that is a semi‑hazardous environment with moderate to heavy noise. Hazards include hot surfaces, slippery floors, sharp knives and objects, heavy lifting, hot liquids, and kitchen equipment such as slicers, processors, and mixers. Working hours depend on the schedule established by the management team. Dinner service only, 5 days per week.

Reporting Relationships

The Dishwasher reports to the Corporate Chef, Chef and Sous Chef, and the management team.
