Job summary

Kent School in Kent, CT is seeking a full-time Dishwasher to help keep the kitchen stocked with clean dishware and cooking equipment. The position is 10 or 12 months, Tuesday through Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

• ServSafe certification is required (will be provided if needed).

• Able to work independently and make sound decisions with flexibility/adaptability, and have a calm demeanor.
• Contribute to team effort by supporting other stations as needed.

Job description

Schedule/travel:

Full-time (10 months or 12 months) position. The schedule will be Tuesd ay through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. (includes a ½ hour unpaid lunch period). Additional hours may be required. Schedule may vary according to department and Kent School needs.

Position Summary:

Dishwasher will work to ensure the kitchen is kept well stocked with clean, sanitary dishware and cooking equipment.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Work the “load” end of the dish machine during service, loading dirty dishes and pans into the dish machine.
• Monitor station during service for sanitation and cleanliness.
• Assist with afternoon prep after restocking for next day’s service.
• Sweep the dining room and servery after lunch, spot mop as needed.
• Recommend changes to improve efficiencies.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment based on Federal, State, and Local regulations; FIFO.
• Ensure all items are labeled for identification (i.e., spray bottles).
• Ownership of the station’s storage areas.
• Performs other duties as needed and assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands listed below are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

• Requires employees to be on their feet for extended periods and to climb stairs.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 50 lbs. without assistance.

Additional Requirements:
