Job summary

Oaks Senior Living is seeking a dedicated Dishwasher to maintain kitchen cleanliness, wash dishware, and assist in meal service as needed. The role supports dining areas and ensures proper storage and handling of dishes and utensils.

Responsibilities include cleaning equipment, reporting malfunctions to the Food Service Director, and delivering ice to the dining room. CPR/First Aid certification is required.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• Desire to work with older adults.
• Must be 18 years of age or older; satisfactory criminal history check.
• Must have CPR & First Aid certification.
• Must pass physical exam and negative drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.
• Stores clean utensils and glassware in proper places.
• Keeps dish washing area and machine clean and in good condition.
• Reports equipment malfunctions to the Food Service Director.
• Delivers ice to dining room; may assist waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes.
• May deliver meals to residents in their apartments when necessary.
• Follows cleaning policies and uses approved chemicals.
• Keeps work areas clean and uncluttered.
• Ensures dishes are readily available for the next meal.

Position SummaryThe Dishwasher will assist with the overall cleanliness of the kitchen including cleaning of dishes, kitchen equipment, and other items in the kitchen in accordance to federal and state regulations and the dietary program implemented by Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures. The Dishwasher will maintain clean and sanitized dining service areas and assist in the receiving, rotation, and storage of products.Responsibilities• Washes and inspects all dishware and glassware.• Stores clean utensils, dishes and glassware in proper places.• Keeps dish washing machine and dish room in clean operating condition.• Promptly reports any malfunctions or breakdowns of equipment to Food Service Director.• Sweeps and mops kitchen area and waitstaff station and cleans filter over stove area.• Delivers ice to dining room. May assist waitstaff with serving and bringing in dishes to kitchen, when necessary. May deliver meals to residents in their apartments, when necessary.• Performs assigned cleaning assignments according to established policies and utilizes the proper cleaning chemicals.• Keeps work areas clean and uncluttered.• Ensures that dishes are readily available for the next meal.• Stores dishes in the proper location in a way to prevent contaminationRegulatory Compliance and Sanitation• Ensure compliance with local health department regulations and the Oaks Senior Living policies and procedures.• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.• Ensure proper storage and handling of food in accordance with infection control standards.• Maintain CPR & First Aid certification.Knowledge Requirements• State food handling and kitchen regulations• OSHA Standards• Fire and Safety Procedures• Operation of Kitchen AppliancesReports to: Food Service Director and Lead CookQualifications• Ability to read, write, and speak English.• Desire to work with older adults.
