Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the dish machine and keep the dish room clean and organized.
  • Presoak and clean silverware and other food-service items.
  • Assist with tray line preparation, including napkins, wrapped silverware, trays, plate lids, and placemats.
  • Stage meal trays and supplies for Dietary Servers on the tray line.
  • Set up carts with ice water and iced tea.
  • Sweep and mop floors and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Remove trash and dispose of waste appropriately.
  • Assist with other Dietary Department duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn additional Dietary duties and responsibilities.

Job description

Hopedale Medical Complex is looking for a dependable and motivated Dishwasher to join our Dietary team. This is a great part-time opportunity for high school students and others looking for flexible work while gaining valuable healthcare experience.

The Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes, glasses, silverware, trays, and cooking supplies and maintaining a clean and organized dish room and dish machine. This position also provides an opportunity to learn about other areas of the Dietary Department and gain experience with duties performed by Dietary Servers and Cooks.

Schedule: Weekday evening shifts are typically 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with rotating weekend shifts. The flexible PRN schedule may be a good fit for students balancing work and school.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain the dish station and follow HACCP policies and procedures while supporting meal service for patients, residents, and guests.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a healthcare Dietary Department and kitchen environment serving patients, residents, guests, and employees. The position involves exposure to hot foods and equipment, water, cleaning products, and potentially wet or slippery floors. Employees are expected to follow all food-service, infection prevention, safety, and HACCP policies and procedures.

Background Check and Drug Screen
