BriarPatch Co-op in Grass Valley, CA is hiring a part-time Dishwasher (24 hours per week) in the Deli department. You’ll operate the dish machines, keep the station clean, and support Deli staff with clean tools and prep tasks. This role supports a cooperative work culture with fair pay and benefits.

Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and a valid food handler card within two weeks of hire. Prior restaurant experience is preferred.

FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Salary Level: $17.00 to $24.00 / hr.

Summary: Responsible to ensure proper cleanliness in the deli and the deli staff have clean tools available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

Customer Service –

• Utilize knowledge of natural foods and customer service skills to respond to customer’s inquiries and needs.
• Merchandises and promotes store products and cooperates as a team member.
• Keeps informed of membership issues and promotes membership whenever possible.

Department Responsibilities –

• Operates dish machines to company and manufacturer specifications.
• Uses proper measurements of detergent and sanitizer in the dish machine.
• Breaks down, cleans and sanitizes the dish machine as required.
• Keeps dish station and surrounding area clean and organized.
• Ensures items needed by the Deli staff are clean and ready for use.
• Cleaning and maintaining floors in the Baker and walk-ins.
• Remove and properly recycle cardboard.
• Ensure Bakery walk-ins are clean and organized.
• Conduct prep work as assigned.

Department Maintenance –

• Maintain a clean and healthy work environment.
• Attend staff meetings as required.
• Take on other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities to Safety:

• Protect the safety of self, co-worker's, and Briar Patch Co-op patrons at all times.
• Report any potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
• Report safety-related accidents and incidents at once to supervisor.
• Follow all company and safety policies and procedures.
• Operate equipment in a safe manner that will not lead to injury of self or others.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or GED certificate preferred. Prior experience in a restaurant preferred. Current food handler card required within two weeks of hire.

Mathematical Skills:
