Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a dependable Food Service Sanitation Assistant I to support daily sanitation and ware washing within the Food and Nutrition Services department. Shifts include early morning to evening options to cover operational needs.

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent; emphasis on attention to detail and teamwork for patient-focused service. Starting pay is $17.80/hour with automatic raises to $20.90 after six months and $21.93 after one year.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain dishwashing machines and ware washing equipment.
• Monitor temperatures to ensure sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and equipment.
• Test and monitor sanitizer pH levels.
• Store clean pots, pans, and utensils properly.
• Follow sanitation procedures and use PPE as required.
• Report unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Support departmental operations with Food and Nutrition Services team.
