Job summary

Christiana Care Health System is seeking a dependable Food Service Sanitation Assistant I to support daily sanitation, ware washing, and infection prevention in the Food and Nutrition Services department.

You will operate dishwashing equipment, monitor temperatures, clean pots and utensils, and follow safety procedures while upholding hospital sanitation standards for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of food service sanitation practices preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate dishwashing machines and ware washing equipment per procedures.
• Monitor dish machine temperatures to ensure sanitation standards.
• Clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, and equipment with approved solutions.
• Test and monitor sanitizer pH in pot washing areas.
• Properly store clean pots, pans, and utensils.
