Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line is seeking a Dish Steward to join our Food and Beverage team at the Denali Employee Community. You will operate dish machine equipment and handle delicate kitchenware with elevated standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities include washing and sanitizing dishes, maintaining cleanliness, stocking the kitchen, and following food safety protocols. This seasonal full-time role requires Alaska work eligibility and a commitment to a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Alaska Food Handler Card or ability to obtain one.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Must be 18+ to reside in company housing (where available).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Clean, wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and linens.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all areas.
• Assist with stocking the kitchen and organizing products.
• Complete sanitization and food safety logs with supervision.

You will operate dish machine equipment and handle delicate commercial kitchenware with elevated standards of quality and attention to detail.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Clean, wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment per Company standards and specifications in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and linens.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
• Assist with stocking the kitchen and organizing products.
• Completing sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.
• Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely and stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
