Job summary

Princess Cruises and Holland America Line seeks a Dish Steward at Fairbanks Princess Riverside Lodge. You will operate dish machine equipment, wash and sanitize wares, and help maintain kitchen cleanliness in a fast-paced, guest-focused atmosphere.

This seasonal full-time role requires you to pass a background check, be at least 18, and be eligible to work in the United States. Alaska work location housing policies may apply.

Qualifications

• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

Responsibilities

• Clean, wash, dry, and sanitize dishes, utensils, and equipment per Company standards and specifications in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment, chemicals, and linens.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in all work and storage spaces.
• Assist with stocking kitchen and organizing product.
• Completing sanitization and food safety protocols and logs with assistance and direction from management.
• Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Must have or be able to obtain an Alaska Food Handler Card.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs./23 kg, work around hot kitchen equipment safely, and stand/walk for long periods of time.
• Ability to work safely in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day
