Job summary

Pelican Pub & Brewery in Yachats, OR, is opening a brand-new location and assembling its founding culinary team. We are hiring a DISH OPERATOR to support the kitchen by ensuring clean dishware, proper stock, and health-compliant operations.

This role offers an hourly base wage with tipping potential as part of a team-driven program. As a key member of the kitchen, you will handle dish washing, equipment cleaning, and station sanitation, while maintaining a positive attitude and strong teamwork

We're opening a brand-new location in Yachats, OR, and we're building our founding team ahead of our September opening. Summary of the Position: DISH OPERATOR

This position is an important part of our culinary team. Our Dishwashers act as kitchen ambassadors to ensure that we have the correct inventory of dishes, cleanliness of dishware, and meeting health code regulations. Ensure that all dishware, silverware and kitchen tools are clean, stored properly and ready for use.

Compensation: $15.55/hour base wage plus participation in our tip pool program. Team Members currently earn an average of approximately $28.00/hour when tip pool earnings are included. Actual earnings may vary based on business levels and hours worked.

DISH

• Clean dishes, food preparation equipment and utensils
• Wash pots, pans, plates, flatware, and glassware
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Removed trash from designated areas.
• Stock serving stations, line, and prep areas with clean and sanitized supplies.
• Assist team members with placement and storage of food and equipment shipments.
• Clean food preparation areas, facility, and equipment
• Must maintain a positive attitude towards team members and guests.
• Maintains valid Oregon Food Handlers card.

Requirements

Preferred skills and Experience:

• Frequently work long shifts and be on your feet for long periods of time.

• Able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
• Must be able to lift, handle, and carry food, supply, small wares, equipment, and paper goods at a minimum of 50 pounds properly and safely
• Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop, reach, and squat on a frequent basis to receive and store stock, supplies and equipment.
• Must be able to work in an environment subject to loud noises from restaurant equipment and machinery, fumes, odors, dust, and smoke.
